About St Anthony’s - Parent Engagement

Parent involvement is actively encouraged. At the beginning of the year parents have the opportunity to indicate a preferred area of involvement in the life of the school through the Just One Thing (JOT) initiative.

Your involvement is encouraged through:

  • Tuckshop
  • Community
  • Learning
  • Service
  • Events
  • Attend Catholic School Parents Qld (CSPQ) meetings. The Parents and Friends Association meets each month, usually the second Tuesday of the month. Dates for the year are set at the first meeting and advertised through the Newsletter. An Executive team is elected at the Annual General Meeting held in February each year. All parents are encouraged to attend meetings. A P&F levy of $120 per family or $30 per term is in lieu of all fundraising events except the biennial Fete, held in even years.

  • Take up any opportunities made available to learn about the goals and functions of our School Board. At some stage, in the future, you may consider contributing to the development of our school community through membership of the Board.
  • Meet your child’s teacher. Talk, discuss, question, offer information you think relevant. Parent Teacher Meetings are scheduled during the year. Parents or class teachers may wish to meet at other times to discuss a child's progress. Parent Information Evenings are held early in the year to allow both teacher and parents to become acquainted.
  • Be active in your child’s faith development by:
    • Sharing in and supporting your child’s learning of religious education.
    • Participating in and attending the school Liturgies and Masses.
    • Participating in the parish based Sacramental program to prepare your child/children for reception of the Sacraments.
